The Great Race - Warwick RI
The sound of vintage engines will fill the air this summer as 120 old cars from all around come to Warwick for a chance to be part of a one-of-a-kind event. The Great Race is an annual old-car rally that has been going on since 1920.
The Great Race is not a speed race, but instead, it’s an event where teams are given precise instructions on what to do each day. They must follow these carefully detailed routes and time their movements so they are precisely on time always. They are even scored at the secret checkpoints along the way and for each second either early or late they're penalized one second.
The Great Race is an adventure for anyone who loves cars, with more than 9 days and 2 thousand miles of racing across 10 states. The first car leaves at 10:30 am on June 18th from Rocky Point State Park in South Carolina!
Come and see it yourself on June 18, 10;30.
